Palenque and Alvin Ailey's dance.
In the video of Palenque's dance we can infer that as Alvin Ailey dance company, they express with the dance what they feel and the movements they use are very similar. We also see that the women uses long dresses in both videos and that dancing has an important meaning in each culture, its something innate.

Holidays in other countries.
I think English was used in this web
sites because is a language most cultures know after their own and it results
easier for them to understand what the sites are showing. Websites uses images and videos in order to
have a better understanding of the culture they are showing. For example the
site that shows Thai’s celebration of new year, beginning the article with text
and then show images about what they’re
talking and also in the middle of the article appear some videos that reflect
not only the way Thai celebrates new year, but also some other aspects of their
culture.
From this site I learned that "Sawadee Pii May" means happy new year in Thai and they celebrate it throwing water to other people even if they are foreign. This is a representation of their belief that water away bad luck and purifies.

Economic empowerment for women
I would lend money to Blanca Isvelia to buy daily products in greater volumes because I know the business of doing and selling whey, cheese, yogurt and others dairy and I know she can sell very good her products because those are things people need constantly to eat and also because having discounts will make her entry improve.
Personal Culture
As we know, culture is the characteristics of a group of people defined by their religion, language, music, cuisine, social habits, arts and so on. In the case of a single person, I mean personal culture, the hobby he or she has, the music he/she hears to and the sports he/she does, define how the people is. In my case, Im a girl very close to her family and friends and because of that, my hobbys are like going to cinema with them, to the church, to a restaurant or to prepare certain food or just going to party with my friends because I love it. I also hear to romantic music, vallenato because I inherited it from my father, and some other kind of music which I feel identify. I like sports like volleyball, soccer and actually I'm part of a team of kickball. For me its important to do some exercise!

Matatu drivers
In their experience of transporting and sharing time with members of BBC, Matatu drivers were treated in a respectfully way. During the recording, BBC's people consider matatus as an important piece of this society even thought, some members of this, reject them.
Actually, in Barranquilla the use of mototaxis is fewer and more fractionated. Its not common to see them circulating in the north of the city but in the south. however, if there are mototaxistas in the north of the city, its probably that people will treat them with disrespectful because they are not allowed to drive around this zone; while they are treated with respect in the south of the city because they are around other mototaxistas and have a good coexistence.

My favorite Carnival moment
Barranquilla's Carnival is one of the biggest carnivals in the world and also is Colombia's most important folklore celebration. This celebration starts on Saturday with the Battle of Flowers and ends on Tuesday with Joselito's death. The first activity is my favorite carnival moment because you can see a lot of people dancing and wearing beautiful costumes full of color, you can also see some famous people who came to the carnival and appears at Battle of Flowers dancing and singing because they also want to be part of it because better than see it is being part of it...

Tinariwen
The song present in the video talks about pain, love and being free in a peacefully rhythm. They also show and mention frequently a "glass of tea" so, from what I saw in the video I can infer that Tuareg culture are people who do the things slowly, they are very patient and calm and also do things in an organized way trying to do their best as we see when the man was serving the tea.
The director of the video used close up planes in order to show us in detail the things Tuareg culture do and how they do it and with the lyric we can also organized the ideas presented in the images so we can infer a concept of this culture and the things that characterized them.

Barranquilla, the cultural capital of 2013.
Barranquilla was choose by the Bureau International of Cultural Capitals as the Cultural capital of 2013 because the major was trying to get this tittle since beginnings of 2012 and when Xavier Tudela, the president of the Bureu International of Cultural Capitals, went to Barranquilla, he found that Barranquilla has a high international profile and also that is a city full of positivism and citizen awareness and all those things makes Barranquilla a city involved in an evolutionary process of acculturation, and that is what they want to show to the others Americans cities.
