Barranquilla, the cultural capital of 2013.

Barranquilla was choose by the Bureau International of Cultural Capitals  as the Cultural capital of 2013 because the major was trying to get this tittle since beginnings of 2012 and when Xavier Tudela, the president of the Bureu International of Cultural Capitals, went to Barranquilla, he found that Barranquilla has a high international profile and also that is a city full of positivism and citizen awareness and all those things makes Barranquilla a city involved in an evolutionary process of acculturation, and that is what they want to show to the others Americans cities. 

According to this, Barranquilla will have a lot of benefits because is a plus for every city that receive this  award, the people will know more about it and because of the publicity it'll receive from Antena 3 and Discovery Network, is very probable that the tourism will increase and therefore the economy.
